Emerging from the sun-soaked shores of Brazil, Seadogs are carving out their own space in the world of Reggae and Surf Rock and Roll. Formed by Ed Millo (UK) and Julio Rafa (Brazil), this power trio is channeling groovy bass lines, raw rock energy, and laid-back coastal vibes straight into their music. Seadogs are proof that the ocean’s spirit can be bottled up in soundwaves and unleashed across borders.
Their demo tape, available on YouTube, showcases a gritty, no-frills recording style that feels like you’re standing right next to the bass amp. While the rawness of the demo hints at their potential, it’s their live Instagram recordings that truly reveal the band’s musicality. Stripped of the limitations of lo-fi recording, Seadogs’ live performances are clearer, more vibrant, and brimming with energy. It’s here where their sound truly shines, reflecting the punchy grooves and coastal swagger that define their essence.

While the recordings capture the spirit of the band, there’s no doubt that Seadogs would benefit from some studio time to truly bring their music to life. With a bit of polish and proper mixing, those groovy bass lines and sun-soaked riffs could explode off the speakers. For now, the rawness adds charm, but a more refined recording would allow their talent to truly resonate.
If you’re into great groovy bass lines, coastal vibes, and raw rock energy, Seadogs are worth catching live. With plans to tour the UK in July and August, there’s a chance to see them in their element—unfiltered and unapologetically raw.
