There’s something in the air this month maybe it’s the rain, maybe it’s festival fever, maybe it’s just too many late night listens with the headphones glued on. Whatever it is, June has brought a surge of fresh releases and fierce competition for our coveted Artist of the Month crown. Last month’s result was a close run thing, with Eliza Delf just snatching victory in the final moments. This month? Well, let’s just say the race was just as tight, but with a few twists…
Who takes it? You’ll have to read on.
In the Running:
We’ve sifted, sorted, and seriously debated the best of June. Three artists rose above the rest, each one offering something unique whether it’s punk fire, indie grit, or deep, immersive songwriting. We’re celebrating all of them, but only one gets to take home top spot.
Let’s start with the chaos merchants…
3rd Place – The Guillotines: “Halo and Noose”
First up on the podium, storming in with pure punk adrenaline, it’s The Guillotines with “Halo and Noose.” This track grabs you by the collar and doesn’t let go a raw blast of energy, attitude, and edge. The Guillotines have been building a cult following for good reason, and this single proves they’re just getting started. Loud, brash, and impossible to ignore—if you need a shot of adrenaline, this is it.
2nd Place – Palejoy: “Next Goal Wins”
Stepping up to silver, it’s Palejoy with “Next Goal Wins.” There’s something about Palejoy’s sound that lingers part anthem, part confession, all heart. The songwriting’s sharp, the melodies stick, and there’s a pulse of defiance running right through it. If you’re after music that moves you as much as it makes you move, Palejoy deliver every time.
And This Month’s Winner…
The Artist of the Month for June is a name we’ve been waiting to see up here. After just missing out last time, this act returned with a vengeance and an EP that’s impossible to ignore.
Taking the crown: Saint Senara with the “Dark Water” EP.
Saint Senara’s latest is all swirling moods, velvet vocals, and songwriting with real depth. The kind of record that pulls you under and doesn’t let go gothic, indie folk, and something indefinably magical all rolled into one. With Dark Water, they’ve stepped up, sealed the deal, and left us with one of the most compelling releases of the year so far.
Special Mention: Eliza Delf
Of course, we have to tip our hats to last month’s champion, Eliza Delf. Still turning heads, still on heavy rotation. If you missed her winning run in May, catch up now she’s not to be slept on.
Could You Be Next?
So that’s your June rundown three standouts, one winner, and a whole lot of excellent new music. Fancy seeing your band up here next month? You know what to do. Hit us with your best. The crown’s up for grabs.
